Is the Control Panel available for the Apple Mac, Linux for any other operating systems?

No, the Control Panel is only available for the following Microsoft™ operating systems:

In addition to these requirements the .Net framework (1.1) needs to be installed on your machine. This is usually installed through Windows Update. If it is not installed then the Control Panel installation will download and install it for you.


 

How much is the Setup Site Control Panel?

The Control Panel software is free to use by our customers, subject to our Terms and Conditions.

Is the Control Panel secure?

All communication between the Control Panel software and our servers is encrypted. You should, however, be aware that our FTP servers do not support  FTP SSL connections.


 

I am unable to connect, why?

Firstly ensure that you have entered your domain name, IP address, Control Panel ID and password correctly. For instructions on how to do this see 'Logging On'. Remember that your Control Panel ID and password are not the same as your domain user name and password.

If you are sure you have entered your correct log-in details then ensure that the Control Panel connection to the internet is not being blocked by a personal firewall such as Norton Internet Security™ or the in-built firewall installed as part of service pack 2 with Windows XP.

To make the Control Panel work on your computer you need to allow inbound and outbound TCP connections on port 6283. There are many different firewalls available for home systems and instructions on allowing connections with them all is not possible. Please refer to the documentation provided with your firewall.

Why is the Instant Setup feature unavailable to me?

Can I write my own Control Panel Client software for use with your system? For example I want to write a Linux version.

The simple answer is no (please see our terms and conditions). The control panel software is proprietary to us. A connection to our control panel server using software other than the software provided by us is considered an abuse of our system and can be detected at our end. Users who attempt to connect to our control panel servers without the use of our software will have their account terminated immediately and possibly have their computer blocked from any of our systems.
